My client is urgently seeking two Electrical Commissioning Technicians in Sparks, Nevada! 

This will be a 3-month contract with per diem and mobilization. 

Under supervision of the Commissioning Lead, the Electrical Execution Commissioning Engineer/Technician will conduct testing, pre-commissioning and energization on various electrical equipment related to industrial buildings. This includes low, medium, high and control voltage equipment including distribution transformers, circuit breakers, switchgears, busbars, motor control centers, isolation/disconnect switches, fuse, cables, relays, surge protection and grounding equipment. The primary function of this role is to successfully accomplish testing, pre-commissioning and energization of electrical systems across the facility including electrical power distribution systems (medium, low and control voltages), lighting and other electrical systems.

Responsibilities Planning: 
  1. Ability to plan Electrical Commissioning activities. Includes day to day coordination with construction teams, having a persistent review of the project schedules and identify testing, commissioning and energization priorities.
  2. Ability to perform electrical systemization from schematic drawings and SLD’s using Bluebeam or other marking tools.
  3. Coordinate LOTO process with construction and operations teams.
Execution:
  1. Participate in Construction/Commissioning Completion and Quality Inspection walkdowns to ensure completed systems are handed over to the commissioning team.
  2. Develop deficiencies lists and follow up with trades teams on gating issues.
  3. Perform on-site testing of various electrical assets including breakers, switchgear, panels, transformer and alike
  4. Perform troubleshooting during start-up of assets
  5. Complete electrical commissioning checklists in the Completions Management System (CMS)
  6. Work closely with vendors to ensure commissioning quality and completion within the vendors’ scope
  7. Follow and complete proper energization protocols with highest level of Safety
  8. Other day to day activities assigned by the Electrical Lead.
Requirements: 
  1. Bachelors Degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience or exceptional ability
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years in electrical systems commissioning, installation, or maintenance, preferably in an industrial manufacturing environment
  3. Highly Safety Conscious with ability to wear and use all PPE’s, including hard hats, boots, and other safety equipment
  4. Ability to work in various environments, including construction sites, and perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods. Ability to carry tools and equipment to site
  5. Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
