Our client, a Subsea Services company, are currently recruiting an Electronics Engineering Technologist / Technician on a Permanent basis in Houston.

Purpose of the Job:
Due to continued growth an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electronics Engineering Technologist/Technician to join our Houston team. The successful candidate will report to the Technical Supervisor and will be responsible for ensuring our equipment fleet is maintained to a high standard of quality and ready for deployment.
In addition to working in the Houston workshop, at times this role will require work away from the base supporting vessel mobilisations and offshore assignments on client vessels.
The ideal applicant will have previous experience in electronic engineering principles, techniques and practices with offshore survey experience using geophysical, subsea positioning, or ROV equipment.
The applicant will need to demonstrate a confident “can do” attitude in a fast-paced environment and must be a team player. The applicant will need to be an excellent communicator and offer exceptional attention to detail and quality.

Principal Accountabilities:
1. Preparing and testing equipment prior to rental and post hire including visual inspection, function testing, and carrying out repairs as required.
2. Ensuring completeness of equipment against packing lists
3. Documenting necessary equipment repairs returned post hire in the form of technical reports
4. Perform technical support duties.
5. Other general warehouse duties as required.
6. Post-Secondary education in Electrical or Electronic engineering or relevant industry experience.
7. Offshore experience in surveying, ROV, or positioning equipment is preferred.
8. Excellent computer literacy including hardware knowledge, exposure to networking, Windows operating system, and experience with common Microsoft Office applications.
9. Excellent attention to detail and quality.
10. Experience with basic electronic working practices such as soldering, making network or data cables and troubleshooting to component level on PCBs.
11. Experience with electronic test equipment such as muti meters, insulation tester, pat tester and oscilloscopes.
12. Knowledge of data communication protocols such as RS232, UDP/TCP and RS485 would be advisable.
13. Adhere to all STR policies and procedures.
14. To carry out other duties as required.

Survey Team in Houston and across the global sites

Job Knowledge and Experience:
• Experience with Hydraulic systems, specifically ROV tooling would be considered an asset.
• Experience with tasks such as measuring voltage, testing for insulation and continuity.
• Ability to follow procedures and processes correctly.
