NES Fircroft are delighted to be recruiting for an ‘Environmental Lead’ on behalf of a market leading operator for their major LNG project in Mozambique.

Activities:
  • Establishing an internal environmental audit protocols and ensure implementation.
  • Conduct internal environmental audits and support external environmental audits as well as pre and post audit actions.
  • Manage implementation of Associated Facilities requirements (Company and all contractors);
  • Developing a site environmental management system that ensures compliance to applicable environmental laws, regulations and standards is met and consistently documented.
  • Establishing an environmental Verification and Assurance (V&A) program and developing the necessary tools, including procedures and checklists to support the implementation.
  • Undertaking and maintaining a Project onsite environmental risk assessment, as well as, identifying and proposing measures to manage risk.
  • Updating contractor environmental monthly reporting template and managing consolidated environmental reporting database.
  • Developing environmental performance metrics, analysing them, and reporting trends to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Creating and maintaining environmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI) dashboard.
  • Developing and maintaining an environmental non-conformance register.
  • Developing systems and tools to ensure environmental performance reporting data is systematically collected, recorded and readily available when required.
  • Developing and implementing environmental performance improvement initiatives.
  • Conducting readiness reviews for external environmental audits and lenders site visits.
  • Reviewing Contractor’s environmental management plans to ensure they meet relevant requirements.
  • Providing on-going QA/QC of environmental data and reports (internal and contractors data and reports).
Accountabilities:
  • In-field development and implementation of all ecology management/monitoring tasks
  • Implementation of site reclamation requirements
Qualifications/Experience:
  • University degree in Natural or Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Engineering, or some other technical field related to E&R management
  • Experience regarding the environmental field preferably related to a construction or extractive, particularly O&G industry project
  • Experience in IFC Project funding requirements
  • Knowledge of Mozambique regulations desirable
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills required
  • Familiarity with Portuguese is desirable
