Our client, A Clean Energy Project Developer, has a permanent opportunity for a Finance Analyst & Strategist to be based in Houston, TX or in Omaha, NE.

Job Summary:
This role supports Company’s financial strategy by identifying opportunities for growth and providing analytical insight to guide sound decision-making. The position requires a deep understanding of the energy, oil, and gas industries, along with a strong ability to analyze complex financial data to inform business decisions. Key responsibilities include financial forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and contributing to overall financial planning. This person will be well-versed in accounting principles, cost analysis, and resource optimization to help drive profitability and operational efficiency in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and trend forecasting, to identify opportunities for raising capital and improving profitability.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals and financial constraints.
  • Oversee financial reporting, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into financial performance.
  • Ensure accurate financial recordkeeping, compliance with GAAP, and proper allocation of costs.
  • Leverage established relationships within the energy, oil, fertilizer, and gas industries to support strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand capital requirements and develop tailored financial strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze government regulations and policies impacting the company, advising on compliance and opportunities.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documents, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and strategies effectively.
  • Serve as a liaison between the company and government entities to secure funding and build positive relationships.
  • Assist the CFO with financial modeling, scenario planning, and investment analysis.
  • Implement financial controls and risk management strategies to ensure fiscal responsibility and efficiency.
  • Present a professional image at all times to clients and vendors and maintain a positive reputation of the company.
Qualifications:
  • Masters’ in Finance or Business (MBA) degree with outstanding academic qualifications preferred, Bachelors Degree in Finance is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting financial analysis, strategy development or related role within the Oil, Gas & Energy industry, experience within the Chemical Processing sector highly preferred  
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience related to financing capital energy projects
  • Experience using Power BI to analyze and present data
  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills with the ability to build financial models
  • Experience with strategic advisory and financing experience
  • Experience in start-up environment preferred
  • Strong technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and impactful documents
  • Demonstrated track record with financial acumen, analytical and technical expertise and overall business judgment
  • Proven ability to analyze financial data and develop actionable strategies
  • Professional maturity and experience to interact directly with clients and drive origination and execution
