Our client is seeking a contract District Fluid Technician in the Lloydminster area.
The Contract District Fluid Technician is responsible for the day-to-day execution of fluid movement load plans within the transportation system supporting heavy oil and gas operations. Fluid movement occurs from well tank locations to end destinations such as disposal facilities or batteries, and may include emulsion, clean oil, sour fluids, produced water, and/or produced sand.

The Contract District Fluid Technician is responsible for the day-to-day execution of fluid movement load plans within the transportation system supporting heavy oil and gas operations. Fluid movement occurs from well tank locations to end destinations such as disposal facilities or batteries, and may include emulsion, clean oil, sour fluids, produced water, and/or produced sand.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and coordinate fluid load plans for day and night shifts, confirming with carriers and verifying against facility capacities and availability to ensure balanced and optimized operations.
- Use operational run sheets, specialized software, and Excel to support the creation of accurate load plans.
- Direct and manage utilization of disposal and facility capacity in collaboration with production operations and carriers.
- Monitor and maintain tank inventory levels to meet operational targets.
- Work closely with logistics coordinators and field advisors to optimize fluid movement processes and troubleshoot issues.
- Implement emergency response procedures during accidents or incidents.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective leadership, decision-making, and facilitation abilities.
- High motivation and a positive attitude with a willingness to take on increased responsibilities.
- Adaptability to shifting priorities and operational needs.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with field operators, service providers, carriers, and team members.
- Relevant post-secondary education or technical diploma.
- Certification or experience in incident investigation.
- Safety training, certifications, or related courses.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in fluid hauling or related operations.
- Experience in field safety programs or initiatives.
- Understanding of legal land descriptions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Previous experience working directly with operations teams and fluid hauling service providers.
- Auditing experience or certification.
- Familiarity with SCADA, Intelex, Salesforce, or similar systems.
