NES Fircroft are currently seeking a Lead Structural for a major Oil & Gas operator to join an FPSO project! 

The position will be based in the EPC contractor’s premises in Paris and will have the potential to move to the yard in China.

Job Title: FPSO Structural Lead  
Location: Paris, then China
Contract Type: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (Renewable)
Start Date: 1st October 2025

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate exemplary behavior with regards to HSE 
  • Implement HSE requirements within the STR  area.  
  • supervise and coordinate the topsides STR engineering related activities performed by the EPSCC Contractor and the yard (calculation notes, engineering drawings, shop drawings).
  • Manage interface with Hull.
  • Monitor FPSO Topsides weight evolution, and consolidate FPSO overall weight with inputs from Hull team. Analyze the weight control report, report evolutions to the Engineering Manager, discipline engineers  and Project Manager.
  • Position will evolve to field engineering position, with a mobilization on the yard in Nantong (China) in January 2026
  • provide support and expertise and contribution with regards to his discipline.
  • provide support to challenge and support the Contractor in the value engineering exercise. Promote alternatives design to optimize cost, work and schedule.
  • timely review and comment engineering documents and consolidate comments related to STR and weight deliverables; liaise with other engineering specialist(s),and entity (Operations, HSE,) as required.
  • ensure that the engineering activities related to STR matters are performed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, FPSO Key Technical Requirements, with required level of quality, high HSE standards, within the agreed time schedule and cost.
  • prepare the deviation requests to FPSO Key Technical Requirements, follow up the instructions by Head Office experts to ensure a timely answer.
  • promptly respond to engineering clarifications, request for deviations and unexpected technical issues, by a proactive and proficient approach.
  • conduct studies leading to technical decision making and issue recommendations for Project Management;
  • liaise with Head office to get expertise when required in specific STR subjects.
  • Assist in the Procurement activities;
  • Assist the Commissioning and Operations in the preparation of their activities.
  • Support preparation and participate in Project technical reviews, provide answers and ensure timely implementation of the findings in his discipline.
  • Ensure proper reporting, highlighting critical issues to the Engineering Manager and proposing remedial actions.
  • The job holder is also accountable for demonstrating exemplary behavior about HSSE rules & requirements and for ensuring that HSSE requirements are duly implemented within his area of responsibility



Required Experience & Skills:
  • Advance Expertise in structural Engineering for offshore activities in Oil & Gas projects.  
  • Rigorous and solution-orientated expertise to task completion 
  • Organization, communication, leadership and transverse coordination expertise for task completion 
  • Languages of the service: English mandatory
