NES Fircroft are partnering with a GOLD resources client who are looking for a GEOLOGY/ PIT TECHNICIAN
The Role:
- Roster: FIFO 8:6 roster
- Day rate: $650 + super
- Hours per day: 12 hrs (including FIFO days)
As a Geology Pit Technician you will assist the geology team with daily ore control and grade monitoring activities across all active open pit mining areas.
Duties Include:
- Assist and provide support to the Graduate Mine Geologist and Mine Geologist with ore spotting, mark ups and BMT installation and pick up. Ensuring ore is dug cleanly and ore hygiene is strictly monitored both in-pit and in stockpiles.
- Key operational daily duties of the Geology Pit Technician role include but is not limited to ore spotting, BVI installation and pickup, ore mark-ups, sampling and preparing chip trays and core trays from drill programmes for logging.
- Assist with routine and frequent stockpile inspections to ensure dig blocks are dug cleanly to minimise waste dilution and maximise ore recovery.
- Ensure a high level of communication and coordination occurs with Open Pit and Drill & Blast contractors to ensure our KPI’s and production targets are met, whilst maintaining strict geological controls.
- Assist with auditing and maintaining the geology teams consumables and equipment, communicating ahead of time and assisting with any purchase order requirements.
Skills
- Experience in Acquire and Pronto (or similar) will be highly regarded.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to think strategically and commercially, approach solutions creatively and consider organisation-wide impacts.
- Well-developed analytical, report and presentational skills.
The Requirements
- Previous experience in an open pit mining environment, preferably in a drill & blast environment and in gold will be highly regarded.
- Experience supporting geology functions across multiple RC and/or diamond drill rigs.
- Experience in Acquire and Pronto (or similar) will be highly regarded.
- Valid WA C class manual driver's license.
- 4WD training or relevant experience (preferred).
- Current First Aid certificate (preferred).
