This position will be responsible for HSE activities at our client's utility site, and this role has potential for extension and relocation opportunities throughout the Southeast, and our client is ideally seeking candidates with 3-5 years of experience.

This role will support day-to-day health and safety operations with a focus on compliance, risk mitigation, and fostering a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting HSE programs in industrial or utilities-related environments.

We are seeking a dedicated HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) Safety Specialist for a contract position at our client’s site in Milledgeville, Georgia. This role will support day-to-day health and safety operations with a focus on compliance, risk mitigation, and fostering a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting HSE programs in industrial or utilities-related environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor site-specific HSE programs, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and promote worker safety.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments; follow up on corrective actions.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventative action planning.
- Provide site safety orientations and training for employees and contractors.
- Maintain HSE documentation and reporting in line with corporate and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Assist with emergency preparedness planning and drills.
- Partner with operations teams to identify and resolve safety hazards, with emphasis on utilities systems such as boilers, HVAC, electrical, and water systems.
- 3+ years of experience in an HSE role within an industrial, manufacturing, or utilities environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry safety standards.
- Familiarity with utilities operations (e.g., boilers, chillers, compressed air, water treatment, etc.) preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage across teams.
- Professional certification (e.g., OSHA 30, CHST, CSP, or similar) is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HSE software systems is a plus.
