SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The IC&E (Instrumentation, Controls, and Electrical) Project Planning Specialist is responsible for planning and forecasting new facility builds, coordinating standardization efforts, and ensuring efficient documentation and tracking of equipment. This role requires expertise in power planning, including forecasting and managing monthly power consumption, generator performance, and PME requests. The successful candidate will work closely with teams across the Permian to support facility development, automation solutions, and project execution. The new position will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

The IC&E (Instrumentation, Controls, and Electrical) Project Planning Specialist is responsible for planning and forecasting new facility builds, coordinating standardization efforts, and ensuring efficient documentation and tracking of equipment. This role requires expertise in power planning, including forecasting and managing monthly power consumption, generator performance, and PME requests. The successful candidate will work closely with teams across the Permian to support facility development, automation solutions, and project execution. The new position will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Planning & Project Coordination:
- Forecast and plan new facility builds, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
- Collaborate with Permian East and Permian West teams on Bill of Materials (BOM) for new facility construction.
- Assist facilities teams with layout planning for cable trays, PLC racks, and related electrical infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain standardization documentation for various PLC systems and automated devices.
- Maintain structured tracking for all PLC locations, configurations, and associated data converters.
- Attend cross-functional gate planning meetings to ensure designs meet project capacity requirements.
- Ensure cost management and invoicing is accurate and timely.
- Develop and implement monthly power usage tracking and forecasting models to ensure optimized energy consumption across facilities.
- Monitor power demand and coordinate with relevant teams to adjust energy allocation based on operational needs.
- Analyze historical power consumption data to identify trends and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Work closely with stakeholders to develop strategies for reducing power cost and/or waste while maintaining operational reliability.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Controls, Industrial Automation, or a related field preferred.
- 10 years of relevant experience in IC&E planning, facility buildout, and automation systems may be accepted in place of a degree.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in IC&E planning, facility buildout, and automation systems.
- Experience working with PLC systems, HMI’s, instrumentation, electrical layouts, and industrial automation solutions.
- Strong understanding of power distribution systems, load forecasting, and energy optimization techniques.
- Expertise in generator performance tracking, predictive maintenance, and deployment planning.
- Knowledge of PME request processes, infrastructure upgrades, and equipment reliability strategies.
- Experience in facility electrical planning, including cable tray layouts and control system integration.
- Proficiency in drafting and detailed design for electrical and automation projects.
- Advanced spreadsheet management for tracking PLC configurations, bid documentation, power usage, and project details.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional coordination.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on efficiency, reliability improvements, and cost-effective solutions
