Location: Prince George (heavily preferred), Abbotsford, Hope, Kamloops, or Fort St. John
Length: 1 year (with possibility of extension)
Rotation: On site hybrid (Mon, Tue, Thu in office)

Description:
Are you interested in playing a key role in Indigenous and stakeholder engagement, building and maintaining relationships in projects and operations? This role involves developing and implementing engagement plans and executing regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will build, maintain, and cultivate relationships and engagement activities with influential leadership within local and regional communities, organizations, and Indigenous groups, as well as support regulatory applications from an engagement perspective.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the strategy and direction of engagement within the regional area of Prince George, coordinating with internal team members in other departments.
- Collaborate with partners in Public Affairs, Communications, Supply Chain Management, and Project Execution to develop engagement strategies, approaches, and tools that improve efficiencies and minimize risk related to Community and Indigenous Engagement.
- Develop strategy and execute regulatory requirements in consultation and engagement; document outcomes effectively, including drafting and preparing submissions to regulators.
- Design and lead engagement in communities with individuals, Indigenous groups, local governments, and organizations to support business goals and project objectives, working collaboratively with Environmental Health and Safety, Business Development, and Operations.
- Lead or assist with development and implementation of specific engagement plans, including project-specific and regional plans, strategies, talking points for media spokespersons, and related budgets reflecting the interests of both the company and affected stakeholders/Indigenous groups. Meet regulatory requirements and build and maintain a reputation as a trusted corporate citizen.
- University degree from a related post-secondary program.
- 7+ years of directly related work experience in Indigenous and/or stakeholder engagement, preferably in the resources sector, especially energy or energy transportation infrastructure.
- Knowledge of regulatory and government processes, with experience participating in regulatory processes considered an asset.
- Experience in and understanding of a large, public company operating in multiple regions.
- Proven written and verbal communication, presentation, and organizational abilities.
- Strong social skills, including consultation, negotiation, facilitation, risk communication, and conflict resolution.
- Office environment.
- Works with highly confidential, strategic information.
- Decentralized operation.
- Frequent travel.
- Attends after-hours municipal, local government, and community events throughout the year.
- Preferred office location: Prince George; however, Abbotsford, Hope, Kamloops, or Fort St. John offices may be considered for the right candidate.
