NES Fircroft are supporting our valued client, Chevron, who are looking for an Instrument Engineer to join their team in Onslow, WA, on an initial 2-year contract.

Key responsibilities:
- Reinforce Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements in support of operational excellence in all aspects of operations consistent with Chevron safety management systems, Chevron Australia's standard operating procedures and/or approved industry safety standards and environmental practices.
- Ensure plant technical integrity is protected by managing instrument equipment and systems in line with commitments of the safety case, performance standards and base design, including Functional Safety requirements.
- Managing the close out of safety related actions identified through HAZOP/LOPA studies by reviewing IPLs and provide solutions to close remaining SIL credit gaps.
- Ensure the reliability of instrument equipment to meet annual delivery plan commitments and IC testing requirements.
- Ensure the efficiency of maintenance processes for instrument equipment
- Provide instrument technical support to the maintenance and production leads, specialists and technicians
Key skills and experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience providing technical engineering support of instrument equipment in a complex oil and gas operating environment preferred.
- Practical knowledge of Functional Safety implementation in the process industry.
- Functional Safety Engineer (TÜV Rheinland or equivalent) qualification
- Familiarity and practical working knowledge with relevant Australian and International industry standards.
- An understanding of the various available instruments (and control systems) used in the Energy industry and basic knowledge of how they function.
- Strong organisational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
