The Inventory and Data Analyst is responsible for overseeing inventory management processes and analyzing data to optimize inventory and warehouse operations while implementing an agreed-upon inventory protocol. This role involves analyzing inventory levels, forecasting demand, optimizing stock levels, and ensuring the timely availability of materials to support organizational goals.

This role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities, streamline inventory processes, and maintain accurate inventory records. In addition, the Inventory and Warehouse Analyst plays a critical role in identifying opportunities for process improvements, reducing costs, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
1. Conduct regular analysis of MRO inventory levels, usage patterns, and replenishment requirements to optimize stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.

2. Develop and maintain inventory forecasting models to predict demand for MRO materials based on historical data, upcoming maintenance schedules, and production plans.

3. Providing recommendations for optimizing min/max levels based on inventory data modelling.

4. Coordinate with, maintenance technicians, planning, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure the timely availability of necessary parts and supplies.

5. Collaborate with procurement to forecast inventory needs and coordinate inbound deliveries and logistics to minimize stockouts and excess inventory, and improve customer service levels by ensuring the right products are available at the right time.

6. Provides actionable insights to improve inventory management practices and enhance overall operational efficiency and inventory cost profile.

7. Monitor inventory turnover rates, lead times, and service levels to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings and reduce stockouts.

8. Design and implement inventory control measures such as cycle counting, stock rotation, damage and expiry checks and reordering triggers to maintain the accuracy and integrity of inventory.

9. Analyze and resolve inventory discrepancies, investigating root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

10. Generate reports and metrics on MRO inventory performance, including stock levels, usage trends, patterns and outliers, inventory valuations, and provide key insights to support decision-making and planning.

11. Utilise the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System to integrate data of various business functions, including inventory management, finance, procurement, and maintenance, to optimize processes and provide comprehensive insights into inventory performance across the organization

12. Supports inventory cataloguing and data integrity to support inventory objectives.

13. Responsible for the analysis and reordering of all spares to meet demand objectives.

14. Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in inventory management, recommending innovations and improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

15. Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements, related to inventory management, procurement, and financial controls.

16. Performs other duties as determined by the Inventory and Warehouse Supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations to support inventory decisions. 
  • Proficiency in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or MRP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, PowerBi, SQL) and other relevant software applications.
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles, including cycle counting, ABC analysis, and inventory valuation methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in supply chain management or inventory management (e.g., CIPS, APICS CPIM) is a plus.
