Programme Manager – 12 Months Contract – Bracknell (Hybrid)
You will be required to be on site once a week
Inside of IR35 £80.65/hr – 36 hour week
Essential:- Life Science and or Research & Development required. Proven experience leading GLOBAL complex IT transformation or decommissioning programmes with multiple delivery teams. Strong understanding of enterprise IT systems, data flows, APIs, and legacy-to-modern system transitions. Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills. Skilled in dependency management across distributed systems and teams. Experience creating phased implementation plans to support non-disruptive change. Familiarity with agile delivery methodology and tools: Scaled Agile: Scrum of scrums, Big Room Planning, JIRA, Confluence
Purpose
My client is looking for an experienced IT Programme Manager to lead a high-impact programme to decommission the complex legacy system comprising multiple interdependent applications. It is a major transformation initiative working across both the technology and business landscape to ensure seamless migration, system continuity and minimal disruption to users. The initiative is underway, and the impacted squads identified. IT Programme Manager to help with the coordination across the squads to deliver the combined objective.
IT Programme Manager Key Accountabilities
Support the Platform Lead through key responsibilities:
Business Impact: Responsible for managing the data landscape on a platform serving approximately 100 stakeholders from R&D IT and five distinct R&D areas
People: Oversees external third-party IT delivery staff and suppliers; no direct FTE reports
Geographic Scope: Global
Complexity: Complex. The legacy system spans chemical registration, portfolio, logistics, experimental design and testing and intersects multiple business domains. It involves a diverse landscape of third parties providing IT operations and development. The position demands excellent stakeholder management skills.

- Programme Leadership: End-to-end planning, delivery, and governance of the legacy decommissioning programme, ensuring alignment with technical and business goals.
- Dependency Management: Map and manage complex inter-system dependencies. Develop and maintain an evolving delivery roadmap that enables staged decommissioning without impacting business continuity.
- Technical Coordination: Ensure that new capabilities (APIs, data models, mastering systems, etc.) are developed and deployed by the appropriate teams in time to replace and retire legacy components.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with engineering squads, product teams, and business stakeholders to align delivery plans, resolve conflicts, and manage expectations.
- Communication & Change Management: Support the platform lead to create and execute a robust onboarding and communications plan to transition multiple teams gradually and effectively onto the new systems.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify, track, and mitigate delivery and continuity risks across multiple teams and phases.
- Governance & Reporting: Provide regular reporting, highlighting progress, risks, and decision points.
