Lead / Senior Instrumentation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Lead/Senior Instrumentation Engineer to join the Pluto Train 1 Modification Project team based in Karratha. This critical position will play a key role in the successful execution of electrical systems and infrastructure modifications during the construction and commissioning phase of the project. The role offers a FIFO 2:1 roster and runs until the end of 2026.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical oversight and support for electrical installation, testing, and commissioning works.
  • Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with design specifications, standards, and project requirements.
  • Interface closely with construction, commissioning, and QA/QC teams to ensure seamless coordination and timely resolution of site queries, field design changes, field discrepancy reports.
  • Lead and participate in field engineering activities, including redlining drawings, updating documentation, and managing construction change notices.
  • Support site acceptance testing and assist in the energisation and handover of electrical systems.
  • Monitor and verify compliance with safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with and management of vendor services and subcontractors to clarify technical requirements and manage scope during construction and plant shutdown stages.
  • Support development and implementation of construction field installation work packs (FIWP), Facility electrical tie-ins and test packages.
  • Drive technical assurance and participate in punch-listing and walkdowns.
 Key Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in electrical engineering within the resources or energy sector, with at least 3 years in site-based construction roles.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting electrical works on brownfield or modification projects, ideally within LNG or hydrocarbons.
  • Strong working knowledge of HV/MV/LV systems, MCCs, earthing, lighting, and hazardous area equipment.
  • Familiarity with Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000, 60079) and relevant codes.
  • Knowledge and experience in existing Facility Permit to Work processes
