Overview

Our client provides engineering design, project and construction management services, from Concept studies through to Detailed Design, to a range of industrial sectors across the globe. Due to continues success they are now looking to recruit a Lead Civil/Structural Engineer to lead and manage a Design Team who are responsible for the production of technical documentation to high professional standards within challenging programmes and budgets.
 
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, check and approve design calculations, specifications, data sheets, reports, scope of work and drawings to Eurocodes, British/International Standards and Codes of Practice
  • Monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and client standards
  • Design input to 3D model
  • Prepare Technical Analysis of proposals provided by equipment manufacturers and contractors
  • Interpret vendor and other discipline drawings/information
  • Attend and participate in risk reviews, planning reviews and model reviews.
  • Identify and raise scope changes
  • Supervise and allocate work to engineers and designers
  • Deliver the engineering scope to design budgets and programmes

Experience & Qualifications
  • Candidates will hold a minimum of a Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering
  • Be Chartered or an Incorporated Engineer, or working towards this
  • A senior level Civil biased Engineer, Structural experience is an advantage
  • Proven track record of leading a Civil Design Team on multi discipline Projects
  • Background in Heavy Engineering, Chemical, Petrochemical Industries; in relation to reinforced concrete foundations, sub-structures, aqueous retaining structures and general infrastructure works (roads, hard standings and drainage schemes)
  • Able to convert data sheets or technical communications into Engineering Documents
  • Ability to read drawings from other Engineering disciplines
  • Experienced in design/work to Eurocodes, British/International Standards and Codes of Practice
  • Design/analysis software usage (preferably ROBOT & TEDDS but not essential)
  • Extensive design experience and they ability to lead a project, but also able to turn their hands to doing the calculations unsupervised
