Lead Cost Engineer
  • Responsible for overseeing cost control and estimating activities being undertaken on various worldwide oil and gas projects being developed. Responsible for planning, estimating, cost control, change control, material control, material reconciliations, computer services and document management systems for oil, gas, and petrochemical projects.
  • Responsible for all commercial and financial aspects of the project, as well as provide and maintain the overall project cost, budget, and contracts control in accordance with project procedures.
  • Prepare project cost estimates, cost reporting structure, and budget/AFE breakdowns. Prepare planning and schedule objectives in conjunction with main Contractors. Maintain project controls systems and procedures.
  • Recommend improvements as appropriate.
  • Prepare, maintain, update, and report cost progress for all projects.
  • Prepare basis for cost progress for input to the monthly and other reports.
  • Liaise with subcontractors to ensure uniformity and compliance of cost and schedule.
  • Ensure efficiency of main contractor’s approved project control reporting systems.
  • Interface cost, labor, and materials reporting with planning and scheduling objectives.
  • Liaise with the project team members, construction, and operations.
  • Provide support to planning and scheduling services.
  • Liaise with contract engineers in respect of variations and changes to cost and schedule.
  • Provide basis for cash flow forecasts and management.
  • Manage the areas of claims avoidance.
Minimum Requirements for Position:
  • Master’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of experience performing cost estimates for major domestic and commercial oil and gas drilling projects.
  • Experience must include quantity surveying for materials, manpower, and services using SAP and OpenWells software. 10% domestic travel required.
