Lead Electrical Engineer
 
Contract period: 01.08.2025 - 2 year contract
Location: Stavanger

Main Tasks: 
  • Design, size, specify, review and approve solutions for electrical systems and equipment’s for the oil and gas projects of topside scope. 
  • Prepare, modify, review and approve Electrical Design and philosophy documentations like Design Criteria, heat tracing philosophy, earthing and bonding philosophy, power distribution and control philosophy, EX /ATEX philosophy, UPS philosophy, lighting and small power design philosophy, Earthing and Lightning Protection Philosophy, Black start & shutdown philosophy, Electrical Cables, and their routing philosophy etc.
  • Prepare, modify, review and approve electrical drawings like single line dwg., Block dwg., Layout dwg., hook up and termination dwg., and schedule like electrical load list, electrical cable schedule, electrical MTO list etc.
  • Prepare, modify, review and approve technical specifications, data sheets and other tender documentation of HV/MV/LV Electrical Equipment’s including but not limited to AC/DC UPS, Switch gear, Distribution XTRF’s, Electrical Motor’s and drives, and packaged equipment’s.
  • Manage suppliers of HV/MV/LV equipment, including negotiations and contracts in collaboration with the package responsible engineer and procurement teams.
  • Oversee procurement packages for electrical equipment and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Co-ordination with suppliers and review of documents and drawings.
  • Attend factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, commissioning, and handover of equipment to clients
  • Ensure electrical discipline designs comply with applicable laws, regulations, standards, HSE guidelines, and contract requirements.
  • Participates in project execution strategy and planning. Knows the project and owns the discipline scope/cost/time/quality requirements, makes certain the team meets expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success.
  • Own management of project change and progressing for the discipline and works with the Project Management Team to take corrective actions regarding any issues, staffing requirements, scope changes, progressing, or other events that could affect project completion and/or profitability.
  • Plans discipline quality, monitors quality activities, drives and participates in squad checking, recommends improvements, and acts where required.
  • Participates in constructability, operability, and maintainability reviews, and ensures that requirements are incorporated into design. May require working with site personnel to resolve issues and create plans or documents that supports construction, testing, commissioning, operations, maintenance, or decommissioning.
  • Support the tender and bidding phases of projects.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement within an integrated multi-discipline team.
  • Some travel may be required, both offshore and onshore.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, master’s degree is a plus.
  • Electrical Engineer with 15 plus years of experience and has led minimum 2 medium to large size EPCI projects to deliver the electrical engineering and design scope of work.
  • Experience from LV & MV equipment’s and system design from the FEED & EPCI projects is required. HV experience will be considered as a plus.
  • Experience and knowledge of electrical system design with reference to standards of NORSOK, PTIL/PSA, IEC, ATEX, DNV etc.
  • Experience with electrical software such as ETAP, FEBDOK, TraceCalc, Dialux for Electrical system design and verification.
  • Experienced of leading distributed teams of 20 plus electrical engineers and designers. Able to work and liaise with multiple teams and stakeholders working in a distributed manner, able to prioritize workloads and help other team members to achieve team goals.
  • Experience from the brownfield and greenfield oil and gas and renewable energy projects for the topside scope is required.
  • Skilled in electrical discipline leadership on the projects. Has a strong background in discipline work, and a competent understanding of regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices. Skilled to plan and ensure electrical design compliance with client requirements on the project. 
  • Well versed in discipline setup, instituting work processes, monitoring a team, producing deliverable, project controls, and project closeout. Skilled in estimating project costs and writing proposal content.
  • Strong ability to inform and persuade on complex matters through preparation and delivery of proposals, presentations, and reports, as well as collaboration with stakeholders and management.
  • Achieves results set by self and others, meets time lines, and demonstrates enthusiasm, persistence, and tenacity. Breaks down work into executable tasks. Acts accountable for work produced and ensures it is "right the first time.
  • Experience in risk management, quality, procurement, or construction execution.
  • Strong communication skills in English whereas Norwegian would be an advantage.
