The client NES Fircroft is working with a leading EPCM organisation that has deep expertise in the mining, minerals and metals processing industries.An opportunity has presented itself for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join this company on a 9 month contract, working FIFO on a 2:1 roster, embedding with the client for a processing plant upgrade project valued over $1B. 

The job
Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, you will represent this company whilst also assisting the client with ongoing construction works in a design & construct environment. 

Some of your duties will include:
  • Completing detailed mechanical engineering designs and calculations
  • Technical review of mechanical drawings and vendor documentation
  • Preparing and / or reviewing data sheets, scopes and tender evaluations for equipment procurement
  • Ensuring design compliance with statutory regulations and company standards
  • Ensure designs are fit for purpose and consider all aspects, including, cost, constructability, operability, and maintainability
You will need
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with base, precious or rare earth minerals 
  • Mineral processing plant experience within a design & construct environment
  • Strong technical experience
  • Strong stakeholder engagement/influencing experience
You will get
  • Hourly rate up to $120/hr + Superannuation
  • 2:1 FIFO roster, 11 hour days
