Job Summary
As a Lead Subsea Engineer/Superintendent, your main activities are to provide the overall subsea engineering support to the well construction team preparation during the preparation (equipment contracts, PO/Inspections & program issuance in a timely manner), and execution phase (subsea operations follow-up, reporting & debriefing). As such, you will:
  • Act as a leader in the implementation of the continuous HSE & performance improvements and cost reduction cultures in the operations.
  • Assist in conducting well and operational risk assessments and HAZOPS
  • Work in close collaboration with Drilling & Completion Superintendent.
  • Be in charge of the Subsea Emergency Response System equipment preparedness.
  • Develop plans for the successful testing, deployment and functionality of all subsea equipment.
  • Prepare subsea job programs and contingency plans
  • Coordinate subsea related CFT and raise CO/PO as required. Follow up services/equipment contracts & coordinates service companies.
  • Be responsible of the Subsea drilling equipment and personnel from the Subsea Company.
  • Be responsible for the Daily subsea contractors follow up.
  • Provide operational support and follow-up for Subsea Well intervention activities performed on the drilling site as well as open water with a field support vessel
Accountabilities
  • Manage 2 direct reports at the base and at site and supervise all subsea related contractors and, thus are their first point of contact for both planning and execution of associated services.
  • Report to the Head of Completion & Subsea.
Overview
The Golfihno-Atum project involves the construction of two LNG trains onshore in the Northern Area of Mozambique. These trains will process over 2 BCF of gas daily from an offshore subsea gathering facility and wells located 40 km from the LNG trains. The well construction team will be mostly located in the company’s main office in the Capital city, Maputo. Logistics, QA/QC, HSE and other support functions will be provided out of the city of Pemba in the Northern part of Mozambique, where the company maintains a 9-hectare logistics base. It is planned to use one or two drill ships for the campaign as a base case. The wells are in 700 to 1400 m water depth location. Well depth below mud line varies from 2000 m to 3150 m. The current well architecture includes a 36” x 20” x 14” x 10-3/4” casing/liner scheme.

Requirements
  • Holding a post high school qualification, with at least 15 years of experience in Drilling & Wells.
  • Previous assignment as a Subsea Superintendent or Subsea Engineer for field development operations.
  • A good knowledge of TechnipFMC enhanced vertical subsea systems would be a strong benefit.
  • Dynamic and proactive, you are also very organized and detail oriented. 
  • Fluent in English and being opened to multicultural environment is required to take such position. 
  • Valid IWCF Well Control and BOSIET certification are also mandatory. TBOP and CoC appreciated
