Material Handling Engineer - Mechanical
 
Contract period: 01.08.2025 - 31.12.2027
Location: Stavanger

Main Tasks:
  • Design and optimise material handling systems (manual and automated), including conveyors, storage systems, Automated Guided Vehicle (AGVs), cranes, and packaging stations.
  • Develop layouts and detailed engineering drawings using CAD tools.
  • Analyse work-flows and logistics data to improve material flow, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance productivity.
  • Specify and evaluate material handling equipment and vendors based on performance, cost, and safety.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, procurement, logistics, and maintenance.
  • Lead or support the implementation of material handling projects, from concept through commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and internal standards.
  • Prepare cost estimates, project schedules, and risk assessments for proposed systems.
  • Support the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to material handling performance.
  • Create detailed material handling reports.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive relevant work experience can compensate for lack of formal education.
  • Min 3 years of experience in material handling system design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of Danish legislation and offshore regulations is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with DNV standards is highly valued, but not an absolute requirement.
  • Experience with EPC and EPCIC project models and supplier follow-up across engineering and execution phases.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines and vendors.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Danish language skills are a plus.
