The team in London provide Consultant, front-end studies, engineering, procurement and project management services for initiating and executing oil and gas field, HVDC, renewable energy and carbon capture developments.
We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Handling Engineer to strengthen the team.
What will you be doing?
Work as a senior material handling engineer within the piping & layout engineering team in the delivery of the material handling design requirements on offshore oil & gas platform, wind farm HVDC platform, FPSO and onshore carbon capture / hydrogen projects in accordance with company values / attitudes and contractual requirements.
Ensuring that other aspects of the project such as procurement, construction, completion and operation are given proper consideration and that the material handling effort is controlled and delivered within contractual schedule and budget.
Responsible for performance of material handling engineering design activities / tasks within areas such as:
  • Performing material handling engineering for all project phases, pre-FEED, FEED and detailed engineering / EPC.
  • Identification and 3D modelling of material handling equipment requirements and transport/transit routes
  • Clash Management and design resolution for interferences with material handling equipment and reserved volumes.
  • Preparing and checking discipline deliverables such as Material Handling Philosophy, Crane study Report, Material Handling report
  • Review and input to cable pulling report
  • Ensuring technical correctness of deliverables and compliance with international codes & standards, client specifications and project standards.
  • Interface coordination and engagement with other engineering disciplines, vendor package engineers, procurement, construction, completions, operations, package vendors and third parties.
  • Vendor package reviews
  • Preparing and delivering technical presentations.
  • Risk management, to identify project threats and opportunities related to material handling engineering.
  • Keeping the lead piping & layout engineer informed of material handling engineering progress.
  • Ensuring material handling engineering is executed in accordance with the Project Execution Model / Plan (PEM/PEP) and in accordance with the schedule, budget and contractual requirements, keeping a focus on Quality and HSE aspects.
 We think you should have:
  • University degree or relevant education with 5 to 10 years post graduate experience in front end, FEED and EPC projects.
  • experience within the offshore and onshore oil & gas/renewable energy sector.
  • Track record in material handling engineering roles in detailed engineering.
  • Proficient in design software such as E3D, Navisworks and Autocad.
  • Experience with offshore platforms and in particular wind farm HVDC platforms, including HVDC equipment handling, is beneficial.
  • Experience in modularisation for onshore projects is beneficial.
  • Experience in multiple office execution / workshare is beneficial.
