Position Overview
The New Operations Planning Technician plays a key role in coordinating and maintaining project outlooks for the Operations Readiness Team. This includes managing deliverables, supporting cost and schedule tracking, and interfacing with various internal teams to ensure alignment and readiness for project start-up and handover.

The New Operations Planning Technician plays a key role in coordinating and maintaining project outlooks for the Operations Readiness Team. This includes managing deliverables, supporting cost and schedule tracking, and interfacing with various internal teams to ensure alignment and readiness for project start-up and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the Operations Readiness Project list in coordination with the New Operations Superintendent and Advisors
- Track and manage Operations Readiness deliverables, ensuring alignment with functional teams
- Build dashboards and management reports to monitor Operations Readiness activities
- Support the Compression Commissioning team with cost forecasting, trend analysis, and budget tracking
- Identify and report deviations, underruns, and overruns; recommend corrective actions
- Facilitate communication and collaboration across the New Operations Team
- Coordinate with external teams including Global Projects, Facilities Engineering, and Maintenance
- Continue development and enhancement of Operations Readiness tools (e.g., SharePoint, cost tracking, scheduling)
- Completed secondary education
- 5–7 years of experience in Oil & Gas upstream/midstream projects or operations
- Prior experience supporting planning in Upstream Operations & Maintenance, especially during start-up and capital project handover
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to clearly and concisely present recommendations to management
- Skilled in negotiation and coordination across internal teams
- Proficient in cost estimating, project planning, and project controls
- Strong analytical, consulting, mentoring, and computing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experienced in Smartsheet (or similar tools) for tracking, dashboard creation, and reporting
- Adaptable to changing priorities
- Capable of organizing and managing cross-functional activities effectively
