NES Fircroft are currently working with our valued client, a major Oil and Gas Operator, on the following position.
Position Title: Operations Petrophysicist
Location: Perth CBD Office
Contract length: 18 months
Responsibilities include participating in and providing petrophysical insight/support to drilling operations for the Crux project and monitoring HSSE critical activities to assure safe delivery of best-in-class wells.
Specific responsibilities include:
Pre-Section:
• Coordinate and conduct Log-Well-On-Paper exercise(s) for data acquisition activities
• Conduct visits to logging vendors premises prior to tool load out.
Drilling:
• Prepare logging orders for each hole section.
• Monitor and report operational well issues and evaluation results to stakeholders in a timely manner. Work closely with well execution team to ensure real time data gathering. While drilling reservoir, provide Petrophysical evaluation of real time/daily log data
• Determine sampling points for sidewall coring or pretests
• Provide real-time QA/QC on cement evaluation logs.
• An opportunity may exist for offshore experience during reservoir section data acquisition.
Post-well:
• Finalise Petrophysical evaluation and reports
• Contribute to and QC final vendor products, including submitting LQC Reports and entries in Logging Performance Register.
• Assist Operations Geologist in compiling the End of Well Report.
• Management of Petrophysical datasets in Corporate database repositories
• Participate in the After-Action Review process.
