Description:
The Oil Search (Alaska) LLC is a Regional Business Unit (RBU) of Limited () and is responsible for appraising discovered resources in Alaska, commercializing the appraised resources, developing a project leading to oil production. In addition, the RBU will be responsible for exploration, appraisal and pre-development activities on additional acreage. The President of Oil Search Alaska is accountable for managing this RBU.
The Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) department supports the business by providing technical expertise and support to BU activity planning and execution. The environmental team supports the business through preparing and administering environmental permitting processes, development of regulatory and environmental compliance training and tools, planning and execution of environmental studies and surveys, tracking and reporting of environmental key performance indicators and serving as the primary interface between BU operations and environmental regulatory personnel.
Reporting to Senior Permitting and Compliance Manager, the Permit Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating with RBU functions during field activity planning to identify permit requirements, developing permit strategies and performing risk assessments. They are responsible for engaging with regulatory agencies and for communicating regulatory information to key OSA stakeholders.
They will be responsible for the development and modification of programs, processes, procedures, and systems as necessary to ensure permit processes are timely and compliant with changing regulations.
The Permit Coordinator role requires attention to detail, the ability to effectively manage available resources, and prioritize work on a continual basis and identify permit related schedule risks to the BU, in an integrated environment.
Formal Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university or college.
Preferred: Degree Specialization in Environmental Sciences/Engineering.
Over five years of environmental regulatory experience with emphasis on permitting and/or regulatory compliance work.
Experience
Excellent time and cost management skills to plan and achieve delivery to the desired quality to exceed customer expectations.
Working knowledge of Alaska and federal environmental and land use regulations; including NEPA and its application to oil and gas exploration and production operations.
Working knowledge of political and legislation changes within the state.
Organizational, project management and planning skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
Keen eye for the detail of specific tasks, combined with an understanding of how much specific fit in with the project as a whole.
Working knowledge of project management processes and tools (e.g., project planning, prioritization, scheduling, critical path analysis, cost tracking).
Ability to work accurately and methodically under pressure and strict deadlines.
Ability to present information clearly

Must be extremely organized and be able to prioritize workload.
