Senior Pipe Support Designer
My client are committed to helping the energy industry and broader society #PowerTheChange towards a low-carbon future.
They are currently looking for a Senior Pipe Support Designer for our New Build team, the role will be based at our Chiswick office, UK.
What will you be doing?
Working as a senior pipe support designer within a piping & layout engineering team delivering the piping & layout design effort on a project in accordance with Aker Solutions’ values / attitudes and contractual requirements.  Assuming responsibility for the delivery of pipe support designs, as directed by the lead piping & layout engineer / designer.  Ensuring that other aspects of the project such as procurement, construction, completion and operation are given proper consideration and that the piping support design effort is controlled and delivered within contractual schedule and budget.
Responsible for performance and management of specific piping support design activities, as directed by the lead piping & layout engineer / designer, within areas such as:
  • Leading the delivery of the project pipe support scope across multiple office locations.
  • Pipe support designs for utility & process areas, including the stress/non stress critical high and low pressure piping systems, as well as the HVAC, and Inst./Elect. cable trays.
  • Development of safe, economical and operable pipe support designs in accordance with P&IDs and all company and project guidelines and specifications.
  • General and pipes support 3D modelling.
  • Providing modelling and drafting details.
  • Pipe support planning, coordination and delivery.
  • Coordination between design disciplines and third parties, as required to deliver pipe support designs.
 
 

We think you should have:
  • 5 to 10 years post qualification experience.
  • 5 years’ pipe support design experience within the offshore oil & gas/renewable energy sector.
  • Track record in Piping Support Designer role(s) from a minimum of one FEED, E&P or EPC project.
  • Must be able to input and control pipe support information in Aveva E3D 3D model.
  • Capable of making and checking of 2D drawings in Autocad and / or Microstation.
  • Ability to manage and plan the project pipe support work scope.
  • Hard working conscientious individual capable of working on ones own initiative
  • Good communicator and team player.
  • Experience in multiple office execution / workshare
