Our client manufacture Speciality Chemicals globally, they are now looking to recruit a Process Engineer to be based in Hartlepool. You will provide technical, operational and process safety support and drive continuous improvement of the plant process and operational performance
 
Responsibilities
  • Keep up to date with latest technologies and improvement techniques and drive continuous improvement of the plant’s performance by identifying and implementing improvement opportunities to achieve the current and future capacity, variable costs, overall operating effectiveness and product quality.
  • Ensure that all process incidents or losses are investigated using appropriate problem-solving tools so that improvements can be made to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor plant operations, diagnose adverse trends, define and implement corrective actions to achieve operating performance targets.
  • Analyse process and production metrics on a daily/weekly basis, reviewing KPI's, operating logs, DCS trends, PI trends, quality lab results, and other sources of data to ensure reliable, consistent, and cost effective operations.
  • Lead and provide technical chemical engineering input to safety reviews, PHAs, RCAs, safety committees, risk assessments and incident investigations and complete appropriate actions arising from these.
  • Provide technical chemical engineering support to the plant team and take an active role in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
  • Ensure thorough safety assessment of plant modifications so that any changes to process technology, plant operating and maintenance methods, plant equipment or staffing are evaluated appropriately to mitigate the risks.
  • Lead plant trials ensuring that thorough technical and safety assessments are carried out in a timely manner and trial is communicated appropriately with the manufacturing team.
  • Audit Asset operating standards through reviews to ensure operation within Site and Regulatory requirements (COMAH).
 
 
Experience & Qualifications
  • Candidates will hold a Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering
  • Hold 2+ years of industry experience in a 24/7 industrial environment
  • Experienced in; Complex Fault Finding, Supporting Operations Teams, Development, implementation & evaluation of improvements and modifications(Management
  • of Change) and Involvement in projects from feasibility to handover.
  • Manufacturing operational experience including manufacturing improvement and delivery of measurable business benefits.
  • Well-developed IT skills (including Excel, PI / FIS, MiniTab) including the ability to create tools within the packages.
