NES Fircroft are working with a Major Oil & Gas Operator who are looking for a Production Geologist to join their Perth Office on a 12-month initial contract.

Proposition:

This is an ideal role for an enthusiastic production geologist with recent experience in supporting operated assets and who has experience in end-to-end static reservoir modelling, reservoir characterisation and in place volume estimation. Success in this role will require the ability to leverage a combination of deep technical strength and practical skills to deliver robust and fit for purpose outputs.

You will support the world-class, Operated, Integrated Gas assets within the company. This is a key technical position within a multidisciplinary team of production geologists, reservoir engineers, production technologists and petrophysicists. We work as one team and are committed to excellence in delivering. On a day-to day basis, you will report to the subsurface manager. You will be working closely with the subsurface team, subject matter experts and technical assurers.

As a Production Geologist you will:

- Leverage reservoir modelling skills to assist with the generation and maintenance of the field reservoir models.
- Provide reservoir modelling support for resource assessments, forecasting and reservoir management for the fields.
- Deliver reservoir characterisation studies integrating all available static and dynamic data.
- Deliver the geological elements required for ongoing well operations, including HSSE critical activities
- Assist in the identification and maturation of incremental gas opportunities
- Prepare for, and participate in, multidisciplinary engagements including framing events, review sessions, peer assist discussions etc.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders located both locally and globally.
- Be able to work effectively in an experienced and diverse team
- Ensure Production Geology standards are maintained and that best practices are implemented both in your own area of work as well via contribution to company's Production Geology discipline forums.

Requirements:

- Extensive experience as a Production Geologist in the conventional hydrocarbon industry, with a strong track record of successful project delivery.
- Reservoir modelling experience using Petrel (or equivalent software), including experience in management of uncertainties and working with seismic volumes and interpretations, preferably in West Australian clastic reservoirs.
- Experience delivering integrated reservoir characterisation studies
- Excellent data & information management capability, and demonstratable willingness to experiment with new workflows & efficiency.
- An enthusiastic technical professional who is reliable and consistent in delivery of technical projects and is open to continuing to learn and adapt.
- Have a high level of personal integrity and transparency with a learner mindset
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to lead engagements and integrate within a small but broadly skilled team.
- Minimum Qualified University Degree or equivalent in geoscience.
