Job Description: The Staff Project Controls Specialist leads project controls processes and consults with the project management team to ensure client satisfaction. Presents schedule and budget status reports to project management team and client and will support all aspects of project controls and reporting, including, project change management, cost control, progress measurement, schedule development and schedule control.
 
  • Job Duties
    • Perform project set-up in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software.
    • Input data, maintain logs, and run reports in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software or other tools.
    • Create Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
    • Develop, implement, and maintain effective scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flows and forecasts on small projects.
    • Responsible for following project execution plans.
    • Approve Purchase Orders and/or Subcontracts for proper coding.
    • Input and document changes to cost reports or forecasts.
    • Assist with upstream (prime contract) and downstream (purchase order & subcontract) change orders.
    • Assist with the development of a cash flow.
    • Assist in the development of various levels of schedules.
    • Apply logic ties within the schedule.
    • Perform resource loading of a schedule.
    • Coordinate project schedules and assist with the development of scheduling reports.
    • Retrieve, review and distribute pre-programmed scheduling reports along with back-up documentation.
    • Updates and documents schedule progress.
    • Develop and maintain an earned value management system.
    • Understanding and verification of progress measurement.
    • Develop and maintain progress curves.
    • Assist with material takeoffs.
    • Assist quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables.
    • Assist with field audits to validate accuracy of reporting and processes.
    • All other duties as assigned
     
    • Requirements:
      • Bachelor Degree in engineering, construction management or related field. and 3 years of direct project controls experience. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.  
      • Ability to work independently, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Excellent interpersonal skills.
      • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
      • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6.
      • Willingness to accept long term field assignments.
      • OSHA 10-hour safety certification
