A leading mining client is currently seeking a Project Engineer – Sustaining Capital to support the delivery of site-based capital projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a high-performing team and contribute to the development and execution of critical sustaining capital works.
Salary & Benefits:
- $100 - $120 + super / hour
- Fortnightly pay cycle
- 12-month contract
- Perth based – with regular site travel (approx. 160 km from Perth)

About You:
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Process Engineering
- Experience in the mining industry, with a focus on project engineering
- Strong understanding of site construction, operations, and maintenance
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage third-party contractors and deliver projects to scope, schedule, and budget
- Experience in rare earths or mineral sands (desirable)
- Postgraduate qualifications in project or business management (desirable)
The Role:
Working within the Sustaining Capital Projects team, you will:
- Manage assigned project scope packages from study through to delivery
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to define and deliver engineering solutions
- Ensure compliance with HSEC standards and lead safety initiatives
- Review technical documentation and ensure engineering quality and consistency
- Support procurement, tendering, and contract award processes
- Provide input into project planning, scheduling, and reporting
- Conduct site visits to resolve technical queries during construction and commissioning
