Why move to the Far North region – Why not?

The site is based close to Kaitaia, and while this is remote, it is in one of the most beautiful parts of New Zealand, with beautiful beaches, affordable housing, it is a brilliant place to raise a family, it has no traffic queues, it has a relaxed lifestyle and some of the best fishing in the world.

Escape the ‘rat race’ of traffic woes, living costs and make the move now!

NES are proud to be exclusively working with our client based in Northland, who are building a natural product extraction and refining operation. This business proudly seeks to contribute to the economic prosperity and sustainable business development and responsible land use in the Far North.

The business is growing in stages, having developed a successful pilot plant in Kaitaia they have commissioned and are undertaking trials on their newly constructed demonstration scale plant this year and are already advanced in the design and procurement of their large-scale factory. This is an exciting new frontier with full backing in place and this is a true reflection of innovation and a rare opportunity to come on board in an exciting growth phase.

This unique role will be based at their KeriKeri office, but you will need to spend significant periods of time in Kaitaia though the construction stage of their plant build, as well as making occasional trips to Melbourne overseeing the design/ plant build with their consulting engineering contracted company. You will need to hold a NZ or Australian passport for this reason.

Reporting to their Project Manager you will play a central role to assisting them in planning works including the allocation of resources and tasks, providing site supervision for project works including the retrieving and interpreting of relevant drawings, specifications, process, construction and consenting information in support of project design, construction and commissioning.

You will assist with all compliance and maintaining of schedules and budgets, and assist in the setting and tracking of priorities, resources and identification of sources of delays or expenses over the projects.  Acting as a Clerk of Works you will be establishing and carrying out strong materials handling, tracking receipting, storage and retrieval processes.

This is a fully backed organisation and you will need to be driven and flexible as being a younger and innovative company, they need everyone to chip in and assist in responsibilities that may not be directly under your job scope, and if you have ambitions to build towards a Project Manager role then this would be a fantastic career opportunity for you!

Your academic and practical engineering background will allow you to get to understand the projects and requirements quickly. Due to the nature of the processing plant, experience with projects from Refinery, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Mining, Manufacturing or Dairy industries would be ideal.

Having strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide array of internal and external parties is required, as well as having high attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

This is a fantastic long-term career opportunity with an innovative and technologically leading company! This is a genuine and fantastic opportunity to become a strategic part of this company working on world first technology and processes.

We will consider candidates across NZ for this permanent role, however, if you are not based already in the far north then it is a requirement to permanently relocate for this position. Please also do not apply if you do not have the legal right to work and live in New Zealand or if you need to be working for an Accredited Employer.

Please apply for this permanent position with an updated CV and Covering Letter or for a confidential discussion and further details please contact Bruce at NES Fircroft on 021 247 7311.
