NES Fircroft is supporting our client, a Leading Global EPC, who are currently seeking a Project Engineer (Subsea) to join their Perth Team on an initial 6 month contract.

The Project Engineer (Subsea) is responsible for applying existing knowledge and experience in the Marine Operations discipline to support project offshore construction assignments. They will use best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve products or services in the Marine Operations discipline. 

They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures, as well as building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The  Project Engineer (Subsea) provides technical and engineering support to an offshore construction project or tender.  The  Project Engineer (Subsea) may be involved in all stages of a project life cycle from providing technical support to an early engagement commercial pursuit through to final project close out. The role is an office based position, however regular on site field support (construction sites and offshore locations) is required to properly execute the job duties.

Job Responsibilities

-    Ensure that all work is carried out safely in compliance with Health, Safety, & Environment policies and procedures
-    Recommended changes in the technical details, and drawings, where these may result in safer and better installation procedures
-    Develop (or review those provided by others) mobilization and readiness plans for the transportation of materials/structures to the offshore that facilitate safe and timely installation
-    Review and retain project drawings and documents, report any discrepancies, errors, and omissions concerning the information required to perform the work
-    Prepare installation Procedure(s). The scope of procedures required will be defined by the senior level engineer assigned to the project. As a minimum, the procedure(s) will outline the following:
o    Methods, techniques, and practices to be used to perform work
o    The sequence(s) to be used to perform work
o    Installation aids, temporary works, and consumables required to perform the work
-    Develop (or review those provided by others) mobilization and readiness plans for the transportation of materials/structures to the offshore that facilitate safe and timely installation
-    Actively participate in project Job Safety Analysis, if applicable, and communicate and implement requisite control measures.   Recommends changes in the technical details or drawings where these may result in safer and better installation procedures.
-    Ensure the planned work is defined within the capabilities of the proposed equipment

Qualifications

-    Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, civil, subsea, ocean, petroleum, energy, or chemical preferred) or a related field
-    2-7 years of experience in the Offshore industry
-    Familiarity with project execution practices and engineering processes including general conceptual knowledge of offshore operations practices.
-    Familiarity with offshore construction methods which could include some of the following: offshore pipelay, structure installation, floating facility installation, flex lay, subsea hardware installation, pre-commissioning, and/or decommissioning 
-    Proficiency in using project planning software including Microsoft suite of applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and/ Project) 
-    Understanding of engineering principles, technical drawings, and specifications
-    Knowledge of relevant codes and standards within the EPCI industry
-    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
-    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse stakeholders. 
-    Exchanges straight forward information between stakeholders, asks questions and confirms understanding.
-    Strong interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration within cross-functional teams
-    Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
-    Demonstrated flexibility and resilience in dealing with unexpected challenges or changes in project requirements
-    Meticulous approach to work, ensuring all tasks are carried out with accuracy and precision
-    Demonstrates understanding of cost and risk management and actively seeks to achieve added value.
