Job Description:
The Project Field Manager 1 is responsible for the successful execution of construction and start-up activities on a large-scale industrial project. This position serves as the on-site representative for the company, overseeing all aspects of field operations and acting as the liaison between the project team, client, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direction to the on-site construction and commissioning teams.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly planning with the client and report to the Construction Operations Manager.
  • Implement corporate construction standards, while developing and maintaining project-specific procedures.
  • Update and manage the Construction Execution Plan throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee construction efforts including erection, subcontractor coordination, supplier delivery, start-up, and testing.
  • Monitor and control project budget, schedule, quality, and safety performance.
  • Manage field materials and procurement processes.
  • Support project controls implementation, including Installation Work Packaging (IWP).
  • Support and enforce Safety, Health, and Quality standards to meet or exceed project targets.
  • Lead change order and contract management, including subcontractor payments and final closeout.
  • Identify and resolve field-related issues and foster continuous improvement across all phases.
  • Mentor and support project field staff, promoting team collaboration and high morale.
  • Contribute to lessons learned, performance management, and implementation of site-specific procedures.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high levels of trust and credibility.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 8+ years of construction management experience, including 3+ years at the superintendent level or higher on large projects.
  • Experience managing multidiscipline construction in an LNG or similar industrial process environment.
  • Proven ability to manage safety, quality, schedule, and cost effectively.
  • Strong understanding of field controls, materials handling, commissioning, and turnover processes.
  • Existing relationships with fabrication and construction contractors in the Greater Vancouver area considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of construction management experience
    OR
  • 8+ years of relevant experience without a degree, with at least 3 years at the superintendent level or above.
