Purpose of Job
Integrating the project team, the project manager is responsible to manage and lead the team responsible for the technical design and construction of its area of responsibility and to liaise with EPCm companies, equipment manufacturers and contractors to successfully implement new assets and facilities until commissioning and/or handover, in line with the expectations of the stakeholders.

Strategic focus
RBM’s strategic growth roadmap aims to align its production capacity in the future with market demand in the supply rechargeable battery materials.

In this context, a global program of investment projects has been identified, requiring additional resources of project managers to take the lead in the execution of strategic and complex investments in an international context and manage the teams involved, including external engineering and construction companies.

By supporting the above plan, the Project Manager is responsible for the team that designs and constructs manufacturing facilities and related structures, determines facility specifications, material resources, structural designs and construction & assembly set ups.

The Project Manager is a key role in expansion projects to provide more capacity to our three main types of production steps, Leaching and Refining, Precursor and Cathode Active Materials, and it is expected a great contribution for the resolution of technical problems and suggestions for installation improvements to meet process requirements

Main responsibilities
• Execute the project within the agreed scope, planning and budget
• Guarantee alignment of the process and technological development
• Assure that all process and operations related aspects are covered
• Assure that technical requirements and capacity are met
• Assure the knowledge transfer into the operational organization
• Define and follow up the progress of all the work packages required for theexecution of the project
• Assure control and follow-up of all aspects of the project by regular meetings andreporting
• Timely detect roadblocks and take corrective action to overcome them
• Report progress of the project to the program director
• Manages risk, change of scope, business case and end of phase reporting
• Clear and transparent communication to all stakeholders
• Gather the lessons learned during the course of the project
• Prepare, revise and approve technical documentation for the design phases of projects, guaranteeing that standards, guidelines, best available, safe and costeffective solutions are considered.
• Ensure that project documents are complete and optimal for a competitive andfair tender process.
• Support the procurement phase of specific components and works, screeningfrom bids to good reception confirmation in support of the project management.
• Control costs during execution of projects.
• Supervise the construction, installation and commissioning of assigned projects,within its area of responsibility.
• Work with other Engineering teams, integrating the work with other specialtiesinto the final project solution, assuring user deadlines are met and without unexpected delays in production.  
• Execute all assigned tasks, planning and delivering on time, safely, efficiently,reliably and in a cost-effective manner.
• Make quality and timely decisions within the Engineering tasks under his/her responsibility
• Gather relevant data to inform the decision makers regarding complex issues
• Propose improvements (procedures, organizational, new technologies, capex,productivity) as appropriate.
• Capture user feedback and lessons learned for future projects.
• Collaborates in internal and external audits.
• Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance withinstructions, and to comply with environmental, health & safety rules/procedures,regulations and codes of practice.
• Manage vendors & contractors onsite, analyze the potential risk and recommendactions to mitigate the problems from construction (EHS, manpower, logistics …).
• Perform or support commissioning of the equipment before handing over to the Process team, support process team during the internal qualification
• Perform engineering and technical support to the projects when needed, undertaking any additional tasks commensurate with the role as and when required.

Key Parameters
• Participating in projects of an average, but not limited to, 25 to 50m€
• Working at sites reporting to RBM business unit and integrating teams up to 20 engineers
• May supervise up to 10 technicians and less experience engineers
• May work abroad for certain periods of time, in other RBM sites or at vendor facilities

Interfaces
• Project Managers have main interface so Internally with process engineers, procurement, operations, supply chain, quality, maintenance and EHS
•  Externally with contractors and vendors, engineering partners and equip, manufacturers

Required Profile
•  University degree, or equivalent qualification, in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical,Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation/Automation
•  Technical experience and/or background in the execution of engineering projects (ofspecialties above mentioned)
•  Relevant experience and understanding in the execution of industrial projects in operationalenvironments
•  Knowledge of design software (e.g. AutoCad)
•  Knowledge of EHS standards, industry good practices and legal requirements applicable tothe specialty of focus
•  Competent (written and verbal) English and Spanish
•  Computer literate with good working knowledge of the MS Office package
•   Must have the Knowledge, Experience and Skills to conduct their tasks in accordance with the rules and procedures set down.
