Major Duties
- Responsible for projects from receipt of purchase order through final installation and customer acceptance.
- Lead the project team to deliver projects on schedule and within budget, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
- Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project, maintaining consistent verbal and written communication and documenting all key project events.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation plans.
- Develop budgets for labor and materials.
- Oversee the creation and management of project schedules, identifying critical path activities.
- Conduct initial project build plan meetings.
- Manage and allocate project resources.
- Work with financial analysts to ensure timely billing and invoicing.
- Ensure all project deliverables and customer approvals are completed for milestone payments and final project closure.
- Hold regular team communications meetings.
- Mentor and support team members to maintain high morale and efficiency.
- Lead by example and ensure all internal procedures are followed.
- Issue weekly updates and conduct post-project employee assessments.
- Ensure all business activities uphold the highest ethical standards and comply with the organization's Code of Business Conduct.
- Ensure all project activities meet legal and internal safety standards, including preparation of PSHSRs.
- Act as the customer advocate to maximize satisfaction.
- Proactively address and escalate customer concerns as needed.
- Partner with account managers to manage client relationships.
- Support Applications Engineering in customer interaction and proposal development.
- Attend project status meetings as required.
- Report progress, issues, and forecasts to senior management.
- Track all contract changes and prepare Change Order Requests (CORs).
- Ensure team executes changes only after formal customer approval.
- Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental compliance:
- Hold team members accountable for HSE compliance.
- Conduct hazard assessments, inspections, and audits.
- Ensure appropriate training and corrective measures are in place.
- Provide required supervision, equipment, and safe working conditions.
- Attend HSE Due Diligence training.
- Support assembly and testing of CSA B51 and CSA N285.0 pressure boundary components when applicable.
- Adhere strictly to CSA N285/NQA Quality requirements.
Qualifications Education- Post-secondary diploma or engineering degree in electronics, electrical, mechanical, or controls engineering.
- PMP designation completed or in progress is considered an asset.
- Experience managing automation projects over $1 million with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven leadership on multi-disciplinary project teams.
- At least three years in a lead role across various markets and project types.
- Practical knowledge of robotics, PLCs, sensors, pneumatics, and machine controls.
- Preference for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, process engineering background, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working under deadlines and pressure.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and CAD software (AutoCAD or equivalent).
- Post-secondary diploma or engineering degree in electronics, electrical, mechanical, or controls engineering.
