Project Manager – Dredging
Location: Rizal or Laguna
JOB OVERVIEW
The Project Manager – Dredging will lead and oversee all dredging operations related to reservoir, intake, tailrace, and other waterbody developments within a hydropower dam or pumped storage project. This role ensures that all dredging activities are executed in compliance with engineering specifications, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
This is a senior leadership position requiring extensive hands-on experience in dredging, ideally within hydropower or marine infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be skilled in managing contractors, equipment, and timelines in dynamic, water-based environments.

The Project Manager – Dredging will lead and oversee all dredging operations related to reservoir, intake, tailrace, and other waterbody developments within a hydropower dam or pumped storage project. This role ensures that all dredging activities are executed in compliance with engineering specifications, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
This is a senior leadership position requiring extensive hands-on experience in dredging, ideally within hydropower or marine infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be skilled in managing contractors, equipment, and timelines in dynamic, water-based environments.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Proven leadership experience at a Director level.
- Minimum of 25 years of relevant experience, preferably in hydropower; candidates with backgrounds in water treatment, pump station operations, or large-scale water infrastructure projects will also be considered.
- Strong initiative and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to anticipate and address operational challenges.
- Comfortable managing diverse teams across age groups and cultural backgrounds.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in cross-cultural settings.
- Plan and manage dredging operations for reservoir deepening, channel formation, sediment removal, and intake structure access.
- Coordinate with marine engineers, environmental specialists, and civil construction teams to align dredging activities with overall project milestones.
- Supervise the mobilization and operation of dredging equipment (e.g., cutter suction, backhoe, hopper dredgers).
- Manage subcontractors and ensure compliance with project specifications, safety protocols, and environmental permits.
- Oversee bathymetric surveys, dredging quantity validation, and geotechnical assessments to guide methodology and track progress.
- Monitor dredging productivity, equipment performance, fuel usage, and adherence to dredging plans.
- Ensure proper disposal or reuse of dredged materials in accordance with environmental and regulatory standards.
- Provide regular progress updates, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies to Project Directors and senior management.
- Lead coordination meetings with stakeholders, consultants, and technical advisors.
- Enforce safety policies and promote a culture of operational excellence onsite.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field; PRC license preferred.
- At least 25 years of relevant experience, including 10 years in a managerial or supervisory role in dredging or marine works.
- Proven experience in dredging operations within hydropower or similar water infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of dredging techniques, equipment types, production rates, and environmental controls.
- Familiarity with bathymetric survey tools, sediment analysis, and dredging volume computation.
- Demonstrated project management and contractor coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and technical report writing.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities; proactive in risk management.
- Willingness to be deployed full-time onsite, with flexibility for Rizal or Laguna project locations.
