Project Systems Engineering Advisor (2 positions)
Support the realization of critical offshore energy infrastructure through expert Systems Engineering guidance.
About the Role
As a Project Systems Engineering Advisor, you will play a key role in facilitating the implementation of Systems Engineering (SE) practices within a major offshore energy portfolio. Your work will support the successful delivery of large-scale HVDC grid connection systems, designed to transport electricity from offshore wind farms to the national grid. These systems are part of a broader strategy to accelerate renewable energy deployment and strengthen grid reliability in the coming years.
You will collaborate closely with Systems Engineering Managers and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure that technical processes—from requirements gathering through validation—are robust, compliant with international standards, and aligned with project objectives.

About the Role
As a Project Systems Engineering Advisor, you will play a key role in facilitating the implementation of Systems Engineering (SE) practices within a major offshore energy portfolio. You will collaborate closely with Systems Engineering Managers and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure that technical processes—from requirements gathering through validation—are robust, compliant with international standards, and aligned with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Systems Engineering Manager in implementing SE methodologies across offshore energy infrastructure projects.
- Advise on best practices in Systems Engineering and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 15288, INCOSE).
- Review contractual and technical documents for consistency, quality, and compliance.
- Facilitate Requirements and Change Management processes, ensuring traceability and alignment with strategic goals.
- Test and implement improvements in SE tools and processes (e.g., Relatics).
- Organize and deliver SE training sessions and promote cross-team knowledge sharing.
- Engage internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in SE applications.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience applying Systems Engineering in the design and execution phases of complex projects (required).
- In-depth knowledge of Systems Engineering standards such as ISO 15288 and the INCOSE Handbook (required).
- Proficient in using Relatics for Systems Engineering workflows (required).
- Proactive and accountable mindset with the ability to energize and guide others.
- Minimum of three years of experience collaborating with contractors in infrastructure or energy sectors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluent in English; Dutch is an asset.
- Location: Arnhem Rijnpoort area (presence required on-site at least two days per week, typically Mondays and Wednesdays).
- Pre-employment screening and a valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG) are required prior to onboarding.
- Candidates must be available for the entire project period and be compliant with employment regulations.
- Scale: Position is classified under scale 9 of the applicable collective labor agreement.
