About the role:
The Procurement services team is looking for an experienced Purchasing Advisor to provide comprehensive procurement services to the business. This includes strategic sourcing, purchasing and expediting of a broad range of goods and services (predominantly goods) to agreed standards and specifications.
What the role will involve:
Focus Area Key Accountabilities Purchasing § Review and verify the adequacy of shopping carts received for the acquisition of goods and services to ensure that they are accurate and clearly specify the goods and/or services to be acquired.
§ Review Robotic generated purchase orders ensuring information is accurate prior to releasing purchase orders.
§ Solicit bids for the acquisition of goods and services as required and prepare recommendations for approval.
§ Purchase goods and services as required to established standards and specifications, ensuring value for money principles are applied.
§ Provide procurement support to Groups, Branches and Regions to agreed service levels. (May be required to travel State-wide).
§ Administer purchase order changes in relation to data quality, expediting and enquiries regarding timely delivery of goods and services to Customers State-wide. Managing Preferred Supplier Agreements § Identify and establish preferred and pre-qualified suppliers.
§ Publish or organise the publication of preferred supplier agreements in EProcurement in accordance with established guidelines and business rules.
§ Initiate the establishment of supplier’s catalogues in EProcurement.
§ Manage preferred supplier agreements to ensure ongoing satisfactory performance.
§ Initiate maintain and review User Guides for each preferred supplier agreement.
§ Initiate and analyse contract performance reviews for preferred supplier agreements under management.
Customer Relationships § Liaise with manufacturers, contractors, and suppliers to resolve matters relating to timely delivery of goods and services.
§ Provide advice to customers in relation to the acquisition of goods & services commensurate with Policy, Standards and Guidelines.
§ Develop Group/Branch/Regional customer relationships to support effective purchasing and logistics practices. Procurement Systems § Ensure that data entered into the Corporation’s SRM e-procurement and SAP MM Systems is accurate, complete and reliable.
§ Monitor and maintain information in relation to Purchasing data affecting claims for payment and carry out such other health checks as may be required to ensure the ongoing and timely performance of the procurement function.
§ Make recommendations for maintenance and enhancements to systems to improve performance. User Education & Training § Provide hands on education and training to customers in the use of SRM e-Procurement and SAP MM. Reporting § Report to Management on Group/Branch/Regional/Local procurement activities. Ethics and Compliance § Comply with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, corporate policy and ethical standards. To carry out the responsibilities of the position in accordance with the Water Corporation's Code of Conduct, Equity and Diversity Policy, Occupational Safety and Health policies and procedures, and to behave and interact with colleagues in accordance with the Corporation's relevant standards, values and policies. Qualifications and Experience Substantial procurement experience in a large multi-disciplined engineering focused commercial organisation.
§ Considerable experience and demonstrated capability in supplier/contractor evaluation and product evaluation.
§ Considerable experience and demonstrated capability in the use of computer-based Procurement systems.
§ Considerable Contract Management knowledge and or experience
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
§ Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of contemporary Procurement theory and practice, including sound understanding of electronic trading applications and processes.
§ Demonstrate knowledge of relevant Procurement regulatory requirements and codes of practice.
