My client, an automotive chemical manufacturer, is urgently seeking a QA Documentation Specialist/QC Laboratory Tech in Carson, CA! 

They are looking for one individual to support both QA and QC responsibilities. This person should have strong QA documentation experience and be able to perform PH testing and viscosity testing in the laboratory. 

The QA Documentation Specialist shall develop, implement & maintain end-to-end Quality Assurance documentation. 

Position Description:
  • Write, review, and implement company-wide deployment of Quality Assurance Documentation, including but not limited to –
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Work Instructions, Forms, Job Aids
    • Process Flows
  • Catalog & maintain all Chemical Guys’ Manufacturing & Quality documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas of opportunity to develop necessary documentation, practices, and processes
  • Train cross-functional teams during implementation of new procedures & practices
  • Perform & document product evaluations for conformance to listed specifications
  • Initiate & manage product non-conformances including but not limited to receiving & inspection, in-line & finished production, and customer rejects/returns
  • Oversee the documentation of the Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) lifecycle from initiation of root cause investigations through implementation of corrective actions
  • Digitalize production records and identify potential trends
  • Assist production, warehouse, and quality personnel as required
  • Perform timely escalations with strong communication skills across all levels of organization
Required Skills:
  • Passion for Quality and interest in development of processes & documentation supporting a fast-paced manufacturing & production environment
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
  • Prior experience & knowledge in writing, developing, and implementing SOPs
  • Ability to prioritize & pivot daily activities driven by production urgency
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and/or specialty in Technical Writing
    • Prior experience working in a regulated industry or liquid filling/manufacturing environment
    • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)
The QC Lab Technician shall perform all in-house analytical testing of products to verify & validate incoming COA submissions through the testing of pH, viscosity, and density, as well as managing a Stability/Compatibility program to provide analytical reports & support NPI development.

Job Responsibilities: 
  • Create & maintain a product specific COA library & perform periodic checks on finished good standards.
  • Routinely calibrate all laboratory equipment & maintain a maintenance log.
  • Establish & maintain laboratory testing logs for all analytical testing performed.
  • Adhere to basic principles of GLP & expand these practices department wide.
  • Execute & document stability/compatibility testing meeting mandatory pull dates.
  • Collect, label, analyze, document, report, and communicate all analytical inspection activities.
  • Perform product assessments, including but not limited to -
    • Physical: Color, Odor, Appearance, etc.
    • Analytical: Torque, Specific gravity, pH, Viscosity, etc.
  • Analyze product characteristics against established specifications/standards to determine disposition (i.e. pass/fail).
  • Perform timely escalations with strong communication skills using appropriate terminology.
  • Under the guidance of the Quality supervisor, facilitate & assist in unique audit requests & testing when required.
  • Prepare sample submissions and related documentation for third party testing.
  • Assist production, warehouse, and quality personnel as required.
