Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of experience in petrochemical plant environments.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Responsibilities

You will lead a team of technicians and external inspectors to ensure safe, reliable inspections and maintenance of mechanical equipment supporting continuous production.

Your responsibilities will cover daily operations, scheduled shutdowns, and turnaround maintenance, focusing on maximizing plant safety, reliability, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
 
  • Lead the QA/QC inspection team to ensure all static and rotating mechanical equipment operates safely until the next planned maintenance period, avoiding unplanned shutdowns.
  • Act as the primary technical authority for approving the completion of maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment.
  • Recommend mechanical tasks for inclusion in upcoming plant turnarounds.
  • Submit monthly reports on Mean Time Between Repairs (MTBR) for rotating equipment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to reduce rework on rotating equipment.
  • Review and evaluate proposed mechanical tasks from all departments for potential inclusion in turnaround schedules.
  • Plan, oversee, and execute inspections (e.g., ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, vibration analysis, alignment checks, equipment clearances, PSV testing).
  • Analyze inspection data to assess corrosion and wear rates, and recommend necessary repairs or replacements during turnarounds.
  • Ensure technical staff participate in scheduled training programs.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations.
  • Manage team conflicts through coaching and counseling.
  • Ensure the safety of all personnel under your supervision, including contractors, interns, and visitors, and maintain safe operation of equipment
  • Approve technician overtime and ensure vacation schedules are followed.
  • Review and approve technician expense claims; keep non-production expenses within budget.
  • Monitor absenteeism and manage resources to minimize overtime.
