Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Aberdeen
Contract Type: Permanent
Job Purpose:
To ensure that products and services meet all necessary quality standards before they reach the customer. The Quality Engineer is responsible for identifying and resolving quality issues, improving processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Main Responsibilities
• Maintain, develop and control all company quality related procedures, work instructions and processes within the management system to ensure they remain relevant to the policy and objectives of the company, that it complies with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 and API Q1 and that it is complied with by staff at each of the Company’s facilities.
• Raise and investigate all non-conformances and perform root cause analysis to identify corrective and preventive measures and monitor effectiveness of non-conformances.
• To liaise with department heads on matters relating to quality control throughout the production process.
• To contribute to general improvements in the quality of key activities within the company.
• Maintain the Company’s Technical library and update relevant procedures when required.
• To co-ordinate all sites calibration equipment to ensure calibration equipment is managed effectively and efficiently.
• Laise with Supply Chain to ensure calibration sent out to suppliers are managed effectively and efficiently.
• Monitor quality performance and compile monthly quality reports.
• Monitor supplier QHSE performance and produce relevant reports for supplier management meetings.
• Conduct internal and external audits of company operations and suppliers, providing recommendations for improvement and raising these in Progress Plus.
• Participate in 3rd party audits of the Integrated Management System.
• Produce analytical reports for quality meetings, toolbox talks and Management Reviews.
• Manage and maintain Non Destructive Testing (NDT) documentation in line with company procedures and industry standards.
• Maintain LOLER register and organise for thorough examinations to be conducted.
• Conduct periodic checks on all facilities ladders.
• To assist and undertake any tasks for the HSEQ Manager.
• Deputise for the HSEQ Co-ordinator as required, supporting or leading health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) activities, including risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
Skills and Abilities
• Possess computer skills and knowledge of using Microsoft software packages such as Word and Excel.
• Possess a high level of focus and attention to detail and accuracy and strong time management skills.
• Ability to understand, evaluate and apply specifications and standards.
• Demonstrated self-starter with high initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High level of interpersonal skills and ability to represent the company in a professional manner.
• Proficient in root cause analysis tools (Fishone/Ishikawa Diagram, 5 whys, 8D etc).
• Understanding of inspection and testing methods, including NDT and dimensional inspection.
• Qualified and experienced Lead Auditor (preferred) / Internal Auditor.

Knowledge & Experience
• Have proven experience in Quality Engineering or QC role (Degree level qualification or equivalent experience).
• Previous experience working within the UK Renewables / Oil and Gas industry.
• Preferred working knowledge of Non Destructive Testing documentation requirements.
• Preferred working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and API Q1, 7-1 and 7-2 standards
