Regulatory & HSE Manager

Typical tasks to be performed:
  • Ensure the company and its subsidiaries operate safely and ethically.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of compliance, regulatory, and HSE professionals.
  • Manage Federal/State government investigations, audits, or inquiries.
  • Administer the compliance, regulatory, maintenance, and operations database and repository.
  • Serve as the primary emergency and reporting contact for the company and all subsidiaries.
  • Track and submit compliance reports to regulatory agencies and other organizations.
  • Serve as a liaison between executive leadership and company personnel.
  • Track regulatory, compliance, and HSE activities for all assets and organizations.
  • Keep executive leadership updated on current compliance, regulatory, and HSE issues.
  • Stay abreast of current industry trends and new regulations.
  • Represent the company to regulatory agencies and NGOs.
  • Perform internal audits on the effectiveness of compliance policies.
  • Develop and implement new programs and procedures as required.
  • Act as a knowledge resource for operations, maintenance, and construction personnel.
  • Respond to emergencies and serve on the Incident Management Team.
  • Participate in professional organizations and serve on committees.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or high school diploma with 10 years of applicable experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • 5 or more years of experience working with regulatory and government agencies.
  • 5 or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of computerized maintenance systems.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Quick Base, and computerized maintenance management software.
  • Ability to respond to challenges with flexibility and resourcefulness.
  • Must pass pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol screening.
  • Willingness to work on-call as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of study.
  • 10 or more years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • 10 or more years of experience working with regulatory and government agencies.
  • 10 or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge or expertise with the following agencies and applicable regulations: AOGCC, ADEC, ADNR, AK-DOL, DOT, EIA, EPA, FCC, FERC, NRC, OSHA, PHMSA, RCA, and USFWS.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance systems.
  • Advanced technical writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively relate to diverse workgroups in remote locations.

This position is based in Anchorage, AK and is expected to work a 9/80 schedule with time spent in the field as needed.
