The opportunity:
Join a base metals miner with mines both in WA and overseas. They are on the hunt for a suitable mechanical reliability engineer with experience in HME, especially across brands such as Cat, Hitachi and XEMG. They are in the process of procuring new HME equipment from overseas and you can expect to be involved in this as well. Your experience will mean that you'll have quite a bit of autonomy to assist the Manager - Assets with maintenance/reliability strategy development and then you will implement and lead these strategies on site. This position is offered on a 5:2 (Perth) 4:3 (Site) roster and will be offered on an initial 6-12 month contract with the intent to convert to FTE.
 
Some of your duties will include:
  • Support Lifecycle Management and Work Management improvement.
  • Monitor equipment performance in relation to cost, performance and reliability and complete targeted root cause analysis and deliver “failure type” reviews.
  • Work with LT planner and deliver major components change out program, ConMon program (incl oil sample results and action).
  • Perform thorough parts interpretation and analysis, supporting active projects.
  • Liaise with Equipment OEMs to trouble shoot mechanical problems, diagnose faults, and provide effective solutions.
  • Manage OEM and major component supplier warranties including lodging claims and follow-up through to recovery.
  • Implementation of a process and/or product system of audits and schedules.
  • Analyse complex problems and implement effective solutions to mitigate risks/issues to ensure key stakeholders deliverables are met.
  • Assess current program processes and implement Program continuous improvement.
  • Review MTBF and MTTR data and provide strategies to improve; conduct postmortem on the critical equipment failures using RCA, FMEA, LORA, etc 
  • Track and analyse GET, tyre and undercarriage wear rates and action strategies in consultation with the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent.
  • Set up reporting dashboards with the precincts to monitor various aspects of asset data.
 
Your experience:
  • Tertiary degree and/ or Certificate in Mobile Plant.
  • Minimum C Class WA Driver’s License.
  • Proven experience as an HME Reliability Engineer or Maintenance Engineer.
  • High level experience in MS Office and CMMA (Oracle preferred) or Pronto.
  • Experience implementing strategies.
  • Excellent stakeholder influencing experience.
