The Senior Buyer acts as the focal point with Vendors on assigned Turnkey Project(s) or Fleet vessel(s).
Responsibilities:
• Implement Global Supply Chain sourcing strategy.
• Set up the Request For Quotation (RFQ) process efficiently.
• Negotiate and purchase equipment/services based on project or vessel
requirements to ensure the best commercial and contractual conditions.
• Provide commercial support from Purchase Order (PO) placement to close-out,
including negotiation of Variation Orders, claims support, and Vendor
performance evaluation.
Key Objectives:
• Follow procurement processes and strategies defined by Category Managers.
• Align with specific project or vessel conditions and approved purchasing
strategies.
• Ensure compliance with sourcing and qualification standards. Role Contributions:
1. RFQ Strategy & Setup
o Analyze market trends and vendor capabilities.
o Ensure vendor qualification and compliance.
o Utilize pre-agreed terms where applicable.
o Escalate strategic vendor issues.
2. Negotiation & Procurement
o Lead the tendering process following procurement policies.
o Manage internal stakeholders for smooth execution.
o Obtain detailed cost breakdowns and challenge them when needed.
o Conduct commercial and contractual negotiations.
o Ensure vendors have the capacity and capability to execute.
3. Commercial Support & PO Close-Out
o Handle commercial matters during PO execution, including claims and
variations.
o Expedite vendor support during key project phases.
o Conduct vendor performance ratings and ensure timely close-out.
4. Senior Buyer Role in Turnkey Projects
o Lead the buyer team on projects.
o Oversee procurement budget and performance reporting.
o Ensure adherence to procurement processes and project strategy.
