Woodside Energy are seeking a Senior Contracts Adviser for a 2-year contract with potential to extend.

Based in Woodsides Perth office, the Senior Contracts Adviser - Australian Operations is a key member of the contracts team who will lead and drive commercial outcomes across multiple portfolios including Rotating Equipment; Control Systems, Instrumentation and Measurement; Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) and Maintain, Repair and Operate (MRO).

The successful candidate will support all contracting life cycle activities by preparing sourcing plans to approach the market, issue tenders, negotiate with existing and potential contractors, prepare justifications to obtain approvals and support post award contract management.
The Australian Operations Contracts team is a critical business function which supports Woodside’s Australian operating assets throughout the contracting lifecycle.

 Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead commercial and contracting outcomes in the designated portfolio areas.
  • Ensure contracts, purchase orders and call-offs comply with Woodside’s Work Management Systems.
  • Take accountability for the contracting lifecycle including preparing Category Strategies, Sourcing Plans, ITT/RFQs, Contract Authorisation Forms, Contractual Clarification Registers, Tender Evaluation Plans, Contract Variations, and other associated approval documents.
  • Continually identify and pursue commercial and cost saving opportunities within the portfolio.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure evaluation criteria, terms & conditions and agreed departures are risk appropriate.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure adequate representation and visibility of commercial matters. Ensure that commercial and contracting services are given sufficient front-end consideration in the development of Category Strategies, Contracting Strategies and project schedules.
  • Ensure delivery of business needs to schedule, cost and quality.
  • Compile and monitor market intelligence.
  • Maintain work plans, forecasts and reporting requirements.
Skills & Experience:
  • Hold a qualification in Business, Commerce or Law.
  • Minimum 6+ years’ experience in either a legal role and / or category specialist and / or contracts advisory role.
  • Experience with the negotiation of standard energy industry contracts including general conditions containing ‘knock-for knock’ indemnity regimes, limitations of liability, IP and confidentiality clauses.
  • Ability to draft first pass responses to contractor clarifications while working closely with internal legal advisors to negotiate and resolve.
  • Experience with a full tender life cycle, specifically within the strategy and pre-award stage.
  • Effective written, presentation and verbal communication to all internal and external levels.
  • Proven negotiation experience
  • Demonstrate people and stakeholder management skills.
  • Effective decision making in the presence of uncertainty and risk and considering and balancing business dimensions e.g. technical, cost, schedule
  • An individual who is passionate, resilient, and flexible with working on demanding projects.
  • Strong negotiation skills
