NES Fircroft are working with a NOJV who are currently looking for a Senior Development Engineer to join their Perth Office.

Senior Development Engineer

This asset management position provides advanced technical expertise through analyses, interpretation and reporting on technical, project development and operational issues with the view to managing long term asset health, while commercialising the asset in an optimal manner. The position works closely with JV Partners to reach agreement on decisions which impact the above. The role requires broad capability and understanding of the technical aspects of the upstream and mid-stream O&G industry in combination with project development, execution and operations including cost, schedule, risk and asset management.

Duties

Primary role
  • Participate in joint venture activities for oil and gas resource exploration, development and production across the company’s assets:
  • Attend JV meetings as representative.
  • Deepdive understanding of project development issues, and onshore and offshore facilities (process, production, subsurface, flow assurance, etc) issues across company’s assets
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to Operating companies, where required
  • Develop strong relationships with JV partners through developing networks with counterparts in JV partner companies
  • Assess and evaluate potential development concepts, including technical, cost, schedule and risk evaluation
  • Review production operations, well and reservoir surveillance plans
  • Monitor drilling and well completion operations and any workover activities
  • Review field development plans and other regulatory and compliance documentation as required
  • Analyse technical, cost and schedule documentation provided to the Company related to development planning, concept select, basis of design, contracting, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, precommissioning, commissioning, start-up and operations
  • Assess JV Operators plans, recommendations, and other reports to determine feasibility and alignment with Company strategy and make recommendations to the Company Management Team
Secondary role
  • Assist with any asset due diligence assessments, including technical and risk assessments
  • Provide guidance to Business Development team in the area of project development phases (feasibility, preFEED, FEED, execute) and decision gate processes
  • Provide project engineering/management and development support to the wider Company.
Additional duties
  • Prepare and make written presentations/reports to Company management, Company headquarters and team members
  • Provide training and coaching to junior staff to grow their knowledge of the upstream oil and gas business and to develop their competency
  • Assist Company and members in terms of development planning, project execution, operations and facilities matters
  • Share knowledge with other team members, including across the Group, and contribute to corporate knowledge retention and management
  • Support and participate in company or JV Partner HSE and process improvement initiatives
  • Any other work that may be requested by Vice President Asset Management and Company Managing Director
Experience required
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Engineering (Production, Petroleum, Reservoir, Process, Chemical, Subsea, Oil and Gas) or a related discipline
  • 15+ years broadbased in the Petroleum industry, working across the value chain (Exploration, Developments, Production) with 7+ years senior level experience with an E&P Operator.
  • LNG experience preferred but not essential
  • Experience in project engineering/management (essential) and project controls (preferred)
  • Experience and participation in planning and execution of work programs and delivery of projects in development, subsurface exploration or related departments (essential)
  • Experience in development planning (essential), major capital project execution (preferred), Subsurface and Production engineering (essential) and operations (preferred)
  • Experience across full project development cycle (assess, select, develop, execute, operate) / decision gates / associated deliverables (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience working on crossdiscipline project teams (essential) and JV partnerships (preferred)
  • Available to travel interstate and overseas from time to time
