About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to join our team supporting methanol production operations. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for driving reliability, safety, and innovation across critical electrical and instrumentation systems. You will lead strategic initiatives, mentor technical teams, and ensure our facility remains at the forefront of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the management and optimization of the Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) Intools database.
  • Design and implement preventive maintenance (PM) strategies for electrical and instrumentation systems, with a focus on methanol production processes.
  • Develop and maintain corporate dashboards to monitor and report on key E&I performance indicators.
  • Conduct root cause failure analyses (RCFA) on complex electrical and instrumentation failures, particularly in methanol synthesis and distillation units.
  • Champion the adoption of advanced technologies to enhance asset reliability and process safety.
  • Drive continuous improvement through reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and best practices.
  • Lead and manage change through the Management of Change (MoC) process.
  • Identify and close gaps in E&I programs through audit findings and proactive risk assessments.
  • Oversee and execute capital and reliability projects from concept to commissioning.
  • Perform advanced instrumentation calculations using Conval and other engineering tools.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical and/or instrumentation engineering.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in methanol or petrochemical manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of hazardous area classifications, process safety, and instrumentation systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience supervising and mentoring E&I technicians in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of leading reliability initiatives and delivering measurable improvements.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with turnaround planning, project execution, and regulatory compliance.
