Our Client, Woodside Energy is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to support its capital projects portfolio. As a third-party contractor, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely cost estimates across various phases of project development, from concept through execution. This role requires strong collaboration with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, and engineering teams to ensure robust and competitive estimates that align with Woodside’s strategic objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for complex oil & gas, energy transition and infrastructure projects.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and scope documents to develop comprehensive estimates.
  • Build solid relationships with Key Stakeholders
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and validate cost assumptions.
  • Develop and maintain estimating tools, databases, and benchmarking metrics.
  • Participate in tender reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering workshops.
  • Provide input into project budgets, forecasts, and cost control strategies.
  • Support bid evaluations and contract negotiations with commercial insights.
  • Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Woodside’s estimating standards, governance, and reporting protocols.
Skills & Experience:
  • A recognized tertiary degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in estimating within the oil & gas or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Proven track record in delivering estimates for large-scale EPC or brownfield projects.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Cleopatra, Safran, Excel, SAP).
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in facilitating and conducting risk modelling workshops.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and Woodside offices as required.
