We are currently recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Woodside Energy to join their Onshore Projects team in the Perth CBD, on an initial 12-month contract.
The Onshore Projects team delivers capital efficient projects across onshore operating assets including the Karratha Gas Plant (KGP), Pluto LNG Park (Pluto), and King Bay Supply Base (KBSB).
The program includes opportunities and projects ranging in size and complexity, including the Karratha Life Extension portfolio, key integrity and reliability scopes, infrastructure management, growth through additional third-party processing and projects at our Assets to support environmental emission reductions.
Projects are delivered in close collaboration with our Tier 1 Engineering, Procurement, and Implementation Contractors and managed out of our integrated Project office in Perth, Western Australia.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Discipline Engineers in the Onshore Projects Engineering Team support the technical and assurance activities across the Onshore Projects portfolio.
- Reporting to the Onshore Projects Engineering Manager, this Senior Mechanical Engineering role will be primarily involved in supporting capital projects, emissions reduction and infrastructure management scopes.
- There is also the potential to support decarbonisation and ORO opportunities across KGP and Pluto onshore LNG facilities.
- Manage technical integrity by ensuring the safe and consistent application of Company and regulatory codes, standards and good engineering practices;
- Develop/review/update Bases of Design;
- Identify design requirements and provide input to project scopes of work;
- Guide engineering contractors to deliver the agreed scope of services;
- Work with contractors to find fit-for-purpose solutions to problems;
- Review mechanical engineering deliverables and provide technical feedback;
- Participate in risk reviews, e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA;
- Provide advice on technical integrity, including the use of standards, and review and resolution of TDRQs;
- Review and accept As-Built safety critical deliverables
- Support Project Engineers to deliver Projects in a timely and cost-effective manner;
- Support the Operations Readiness team
- Provide technical support for site-based delivery, for construction, inspection, commissioning and handover activities
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong Process Safety mindset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and stakeholder management
- Working within multi-disciplinary teams
