Senior Production Technologist – Coal Seam Gas (CSG) | Surat Basin

Location: Brisbane, QLD (with site travel required)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (5/2)
Contract: Initial 12-month term, potential for extension

We're seeking an experienced Senior Production Technologist with deep expertise in Hydraulic Fracture Stimulation and tight coal formations to join a Future Volumes team delivering sustaining wells in the Surat Basin.
This is a pivotal technical role, driving the rapid adoption of best practices and innovation across well design, completion, and frac stimulation planning. You’ll operate at the cutting edge of tight coal CSG development, bringing both strategic insight and on-the-ground execution experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen and assess well design and completion options for tight coal development
  • Lead maturation of Production Technology inputs to decision quality
  • Develop and contribute to project deliverables: Concept Select Reports, Well Design Options, and Functional Specifications
  • Integrate core, log, DFIT, and microseismic data into frac designs
  • Mentor and train junior Production Technologists across the business
  • Provide expert advice on stimulation operations and planning
About You
  • Recognised subject matter expert in Hydraulic Fracture Stimulation (CSG)
  • Significant tight coal experience, ideally within the Surat Basin
  • Strong understanding of frac operations, equipment, and data integration
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, challenge, and collaborate with stakeholders
  • Proven delivery of technical outcomes in complex environments
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and mentoring skills
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Petroleum Engineering or relevant discipline
  • ~15+ years of industry experience, with a strong focus on CSG
  • Surat Basin experience highly preferred; global CSG exposure considered
