The Client:
Metals miner and refiner with operations across Australia with a keen focus on the community and its responsibility to the environment. They are on the hunt for a senior mechanical project engineer to work on the owner's team in an ongoing 12-month rolling contract for up to 3 years of work. This is a residential role Mon-Fri.
The Job:
Joining the owner's team (major projects) and reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will play a part in advancing a furnace upgrade project ($100m value) from studies into execution. This project is expected to take up to 3 years.

The Job:
Joining the owner's team (major projects) and reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will play a part in advancing a furnace upgrade project ($100m value) from studies into execution. This project is expected to take up to 3 years.
Some of your duties will include:
- HSE management - ensuring OHSE requirements are met and included in design and procurement
- Stakeholder relationship management - liaising with and managing the EPCM contractor
- Commercial management - assigned budgets within the project scope
- Scope management - compliance with execution plans and contracts
- Cost Control - forecasting, trend identification and managing budget blow outs
- Risk management - monitoring of risks
- Design management - ensure requirements are met in a timely and compliant manner
- Procurement & subcontracts - ensuring key items are delivered on time and meet specification
You'll need:
- Tertiary qualifications as a Mechanical Engineer
- Comprehensive project experience from studies to commissioning
- Experience working on furnace upgrades
- Great stakeholder management skills
- Brownfields project experience
You'll get:
- Hourly rate + Superannuation
- Mon-Fri in a residential role
